I don't need to tell you that the skin is the largest organ in the body, so the chances are, if we are unwell or lacking in vital nutrients, it is our skin that will be the first to show signs.

When I first started putting my skincare range together, I did a whole lot of research into why our skin needs certain nutrients and from what sources I use in the skincare.

There are 4 main vitamins, vital for GLOWING skin:

Vitamin A:

Dry, cracked or even acne prone skin may be a sign that you are lacking in vitamin A. It is a healing vitamin that helps rebuild skin tissue, so is necessary for healing wounds of all sorts

Psoriasis and eczema sufferers are often advised to apply a topical cream containing this nutrient

Good sources of Vitamin A include eggs, leafy greens, milk, carrots,

pumpkins, liver and more.

The Moisturiser, The Tinted Moisturiser, The Eye Therapy, GLOW oil elixir, Night Balm, Body lotion, Self Tan all contain Vitamin A in the form of Argan oil, Meadowfoam and Camelia oil

Vitamin B complex:

To achieve GLOWING, healthy looking skin, make sure and get your daily quota of circulation boosting B1, whileB3 helps your skin receive plenty of oxygen,

to help prevent the development of acne.

Good sources of the B group include tomatoes, broccoli and carrots

The Moisturiser, The Tinted Moisturiser, The Eye Therapy, GLOW oil elixir, Night Balm, Body lotion, Self Tan all contain High levels of B complex from Argan oil, Camelia oil and Pumpkin seed oil

Vitamin C:

Vitamin C along with vitamins A & E are powerful anti-oxidants. This means that it can help you combat the signs of skin aging. This powerful nutrient also helps stimulates the production of collagen, helping the skin regain some of it's youthful firmness and elasticity.

Good sources of Vitamin C are fruits in the form of berries and citrus as well as vegetables like broccoli, cauliflower, tomato, brussel sprouts and cucumber.

Daily Moisture Boost, Eye Therapy and Toner contain vitamin C in the form of citric acid , Rosehip oil and Pumpkin seed oil.

Daily Moisture Boost, Eye Therapy, Night Balm , GLOW oil all contain high content B complex

Vitamin E

Vitamin E is maybe the best known skin vitamin. This is because Vitamin E along with vitamins A&C are effective antioxidants that helps fight free radicals. Free radicals are caused by external pollutants such as smoking, too much sun and chemicals. One of the major effects of free radicals is premature skin aging. Vitamin E is seen as an important anti-aging nutrient, helping with the appearance of of age spots, wrinkles, stretch marks.

Good source of vitamin E can be found in foods like olives, sunflower seeds, peanuts, almonds, wheat germ and leafy greens.

Creamy Cloth Cleanser ,Daily Moisture Boost, Rose Night Balm, GLOW oil and Body Bliss all contain vitamin E in the form of cocoa butter and coconut oil.

Essential Fatty Acids (Efa's)

Young skin is full of plump, water-filled cells. A skin cell’s ability to

hold water decreases naturally with age, however, essential fatty acids have an important role to play in anti-aging. Their job is to keep the cell and it's membrane healthy and supple. As a result the skin cells are able to keep their shape and the skin is helped to stay firm and more youthful in appearance!

All SKINVELOP skincare products contain high levels of essential fatty acids and are suitable for ALL skin types.

It is important to feed the skin from both the inside in the form of good balanced food groups and the outside, with high quality natural skincare that wont block the pores.
